This project aims to undertake significant curricular reforms of allied
health science general chemistry courses, the "nursing chemistry"
class, to adapt it better to the disciplinary needs of the nursing students
in terms of both content and pedagogy. This project will establish a faculty
workshop to
- Identify a set of outcomes specifically for nursing chemistry students;
- Develop pedagogical strategies consistent with current views of learning;
- Create testable hypotheses about the instruction of nursing chemistry;
- Devise protocols for assessment of this program; and
- Formulate and implement a dissemination plan.
