Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) Position Open - Physical Chemistry
The Chemistry Department at Eastern Kentucky University seeks applications for a tenure track assistant professor with appointment to begin August 15, 2010. Teaching responsibilities would be coordinated with other physical chemistry faculty and would include upper-division (calculus- and non-calculus-based) and graduate-level offerings, including labs, as well as introductory and general chemistry. Special topics courses are also possible. Applicants with an interest in teaching online will be given priority. The candidate must have an earned doctorate degree in chemistry with a background in physical chemistry from a regionally accedited institution by August 15, 2010. Post-doctoral research and prior teaching experience preferred. Research expectations include the establishment of an independent research program commensurate with a master's-level institution. Candidates with research plans that complement existing strengths of the department including use of departmental instruments are preferred. Start-up funds are available.
